Women's Swimming and Diving Topped by Montclair State in Final Dual Meet

VIDEO HIGHLIGHTS

WAYNE, N.J. – The William Paterson women's swimming and diving (10-5-1) closed out the regular season with a 119-54 loss to Montclair State (10-2) Jan. 30 at Wightman Pool.
 
TOP PERFORMERS:
  • Senior Nicole Kahwaty (Lake Hopatcong, N.J./Morris County Tech) placed first in the 100 breast with a time of 1:23.95.
  • Sophomore Sarah Gomez (Paterson, N.J./Passaic County Tech) tallied nine points with her first-place finish in the 400 IM (5:23.49)
  • WP won the 400-free relay with efforts by junior Samantha Pricken (Wayne, N.J./Wayne Valley), graduate student Rose Vail (Phoenix, Md./Dulaney), senior Hailey Krajewski (Clifton, N.J./DePaul Catholic) and Gomez, posting a time of 4:02.22.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
  • Krajewski posted a personal best in the 200 IM (2:32.11).
  • Freshman Sarah Filipowicz (Hewitt, N.J./West Milford) earned a personal record in the 100 back (1:26.22).
UP NEXT:
  • William Paterson competes in the first-ever New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) Swimming & Diving Championships which will take place Thursday, Feb. 15 to Sunday, Feb. 18 at the University of Maryland Natatorium.
