Women’s Swimming and Diving Closes Out Mets in 12th Place

PISCATAWAY, N.J. – The William Paterson women's swimming and diving team closed out the Metropolitan Championships with a total of 164 points which placed the Pioneers 12th place out of 14 division III schools, Sunday, Feb. 19.
 
TOP PERFORMERS:
  • Junior Samantha Pricken (Wayne, N.J./Wayne Valley) advanced to the C Finals in the 200 back where she placed fifth with a time of 2:18.61.
  • The 400 free relay team consisted of Pricken, freshman Sarah Gomez (Paterson, N.J./Passaic County Tech), junior Hailey Krajewski (Clifton, N.J./DePaul Catholic) and senior Jillian Starace (Toms River, N.J./Toms River East). The group finished 13th with a time of 3:54.60.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
  • Pricken's overall time in the 200 back C Finals was a personal best (2:18.61).
  • Krajewski posted a personal record in the 200 breast (2:45.75).
  • Junior Nicole Kahwaty (Lakke Hopatcong, N.J./Morris County Tech) earned a personal best in the 200 breast (2:46.91) and 1,650 free (21:50.30).
  • Senior Emily Murphy (Stockholm, N.J./Wallkill Valley Regional) secured a personal record in the 200 fly (3:00.85).
