Women's Swimming and Diving Sits in Twelfth After Third Day of Mets

PISCATAWAY, N.J. – The William Paterson women's swimming and diving team completed its third day at the Metropolitan Championships with a twelfth-place finish amongst 14 division III schools, Saturday, Feb. 18.
 
TOP PERFORMERS:
  • Junior Samantha Pricken (Wayne, N.J./Wayne Valley) competed in the B Finals for the 100 back and secured seventh place with an overall time of 1:02.10.
  •  The Pioneers 200 medley relay team consisted of Pricken, freshman Sarah Gomez (Paterson, N.J./Passaic County Tech), senior Jillian Starace (Toms River, N.J./Toms River East) and junior Hailey Krajewski (Clifton, N.J./DePaul Catholic). The group finished 12th with an overall time of 1:57.65.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
  • Senior Emily Murphy (Stockholm, N.J./Wallkill Valley Regional) posted a personal best in the 400 IM (5:46.17).
  • Krajewski recorded a personal record in the 100 fly (1:03.72).
  • Espin earned a personal best in the 200 free (2:25.01).
  • Pricken secured a personal record in the 100 back preliminary round (1:01.67).

  • William Paterson continues at the Metropolitan Championships Sunday, Feb. 19 with preliminary rounds starting at 9:30 a.m.
