PISCATAWAY, N.J. – The William Paterson women's swimming and diving team completed its first day at the Metropolitan Championships with an eleventh-place finish amongst 11 overall schools in the 800 free relay, Thursday, Feb. 16.
 
TOP PERFORMERS:

• The Pioneers 800 free relay team consisted of senior Jillian Starace (Toms River, N.J./Toms River East), senior Emily Murphy (Stockholm, N.J./Wallkill Valley Regional), junior Nicole Kahwaty (Lakke Hopatcong, N.J./Morris County Tech) and junior Melody Espin (Colonia, N.J./Colonia), finishing with an overall time of 9:47.75.

• William Paterson continues at the Metropolitan Championships Friday, Feb. 17 with preliminary rounds starting at 9:30 a.m.
