MONTCLAIR, N.J. – The William Paterson women's swimming and diving team (12-7, 0-5 NJAC) fell to Montclair (7-3, 2-2 NJAC) in their final regular season meet, 153-58, on Tuesday, Jan. 31.

TOP PERFORMERS:
- The Pioneers won the first event of the night, the 200 medley relay, with efforts by junior Samantha Pricken (Wayne, N.J./Wayne Valley), junior Hailey Krajewski (Clifton, N.J./DePaul Catholic), senior Jillian Starace (Toms River, N.J./Toms River East) and freshman Sarah Gomez (Paterson, N.J./Passaic County Tech), finishing with a time of 2:00.32.
- WP also had a first-place finish in the 200 free relay, with efforts by Starace, junior Nicole Kahwaty (Lakke Hopatcong, N.J./Morris County Tech), junior Melody Espin (Colonia, N.J./Colonia) and senior Emily Murphy (Stockholm, N.J./Wallkill Valley Regional). The Pioneers finished with a time of 2:04.13.
- Gomez placed first in the 100 breast (1:15.82).

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
- Espin earned a personal best in the 200 free (2:34.28).
- Gomez secured a personal record in the 400 IM (5:14.88).
- Murphy posted two personal bests in the 400 IM (6:03.64) and 500 free (6:47.59).
