WAYNE, N.J. – The William Paterson women's swimming and diving team (12-6) celebrated senior day with a victory over Western Connecticut State (3-11) in their final home meet, 89-51, on Saturday, Jan. 28. The Pioneers honored four seniors at Wightman Pool prior to the meet.

TOP PERFORMERS:
- The Pioneers came up victorious in the 200 medley, with efforts by junior Samantha Pricken (Wayne, N.J./Wayne Valley), junior Hailey Krajewski (Clifton, N.J./DePaul Catholic), senior Jillian Starace (Toms River, N.J./Toms River East) and senior Emily Murphy (Stockholm, N.J./Wallkill Valley Regional), finishing with a time 2:02.58.
- Pricken earned first place in the 50 free (26.04) and 100 back (1:03.50).
- Freshman Sarah Gomez (Paterson, N.J./Passaic County Tech) touched the wall first in the 200 IM (2:23.66) and 100 free (57.89).
- Krajewski posted a first-place finish in the 100 fly (1:06:05).
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
- Junior Nicole Kahwaty (Lakke Hopatcong, N.J./Morris County Tech) secured a personal best in the 1,000 free (12:58.17).
- Junior Melody Espin (Colonia, N.J./Colonia) posted two personal records in the 1,000 free (14:28.83) and 100 back (1:20.63).
- Krajewski broke two personal records in the 200 free (2:15.71) and 100 fly (1:06.05).
- Pricken knocked down her personal bests in the 50 free (26.04) and 100 back (1:03.50).
- Gomez's first-place finish in the 100 free was a personal record (57.89).
- Murphy beat her personal best in the 100 free (1:09.14).
