Senior William PIke Finished his last Mets swim with a seventh-place finish in the 200 breast C-final

Men’s Swimming and Diving Closes Out Mets in Tenth Place

PISCATAWAY, N.J. – The William Paterson men's swimming and diving team closed out the Metropolitan Championships with a total of 165 points which placed the Pioneers 10th place out of 12 Division III schools and 12th place out of 14 teams competing, Feb. 20.

TOP PERFORMERS:
  • Freshman Shane Apito (Lake Hiawatha, N.J./Parsippany) represented the Pioneers in the 200 fly C-final where he placed third (2:18.38).
  • Senior William Pike (Wayne, N.J./Wayne Valley) earned a spot in the 200 breast C-final where he finished seventh with a time of 2:35.27. 
  • The 400 free relay team consisted of sophomore Andrew Colligan (Andover, N.J./Sussex County Tech), senior Valentine Perez (Hamilton, N.J./Hamilton West), sophomore Ricardo Ordinola (Lodi, N.J./Passaic County Tech), and Apito. The group placed ninth out of 10 Division III teams with a time of 1 3:35.53.
