Freshman Shane Apito finished fifth in the 400 IM C-final

Men’s Swimming and Diving Remains in Tenth After Third Day of Mets

PISCATAWAY, N.J. – The William Paterson men's swimming and diving team remains in 10th place out of 12 Division III teams and 12th place out of 14 teams competing after the third day of the Metropolitan Championships, Feb. 19.

TOP PERFORMERS:
  • Freshman Shane Apito (Lake Hiawatha, N.J./Parsippany) represented the Pioneers in the 400 IM C-final where he placed fifth (4:44.21).
  • The 200 free relay team consisted of sophomore Andrew Colligan (Andover, N.J./Sussex County Tech), senior Valentine Perez (Hamilton, N.J./Hamilton West), sophomore Jackson Forrest (Lewes, Del./Wayne Valley), and Apito. The group placed 10th out of 11 Division III teams with a time of 1:38.71.
  • The 400 medley relay team consisted of senior Thomas Haughey (Folsom, Pa./Ridley), Pike, Apito, and Colligan. The group placed 10th out of 11 Division III teams with a time of 4:07.77.
