Men’s Swimming and Diving Sits in Tenth After Second Day of Mets

PISCATAWAY, N.J. – The William Paterson men's swimming and diving team completed its second day at the Metropolitan Championships sitting in tenth out of twelve Division III schools and 12th place out of 14 overall schools that competed Feb. 18.

TOP PERFORMERS:
  • The Pioneer 200 medley relay team consisted of senior Thomas Haughey (Folsom, Pa./Ridley), senior William Pike (Wayne, N.J./Wayne Valley), freshman Shane Apito (Lake Hiawatha, N.J./Parsippany), and sophomore Andrew Colligan (Andover, N.J./Sussex County Tech). The group finished with an overall time of 1:52.16.
  • Pike also swam a 5:45.34 time during the preliminary rounds in the 500 free.
  • Apito competed in the 200 IM during the preliminary rounds, finishing with a time of 2:13.92.

UP NEXT:
  • William Paterson returns to Rutgers University for day three of the Metropolitan Championships Saturday, Feb. 19 with preliminary rounds starting at 9:30 a.m.
