Men's Swimming and Diving Team Posted Eight Personal Records in Loss to Rowan

WAYNE, N.J. – The William Paterson men's swimming and diving team (4-4, 0-2 NJAC) fell to Rowan (3-1, 2-0 NJAC), 137-60, at Wightman Pool on Nov. 15.
 

TOP PERFORMERS:
  • Freshman David Rios (Garfield, N.J./Garfield) secured a second-place finish in the 50 fly (25.23).

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
  • Rios' finishes in the 50 free (23.16), 100 free (52.32), and 50 fly (25.23) were personal records.
  • Junior Brandon Arias (North Haledon, N.J./Passaic County Tech) posted a personal best in the 200 free (2:10.59) and 500 free (5:56.93).
  • Junior Bruno Gavela (Wayne, N.J./Klein Collins) also posted a personal record in the 50 free (28.68).
  • Freshman Nicky Byrd (Purchase, N.Y./Harrison) finished the 100 back (1:03.07) with a personal best.
  • Sophomore Shane Apito (Lake Hiawatha, N.J./Parsippany) posted a personal best in the 500 free (5:34.13).
