Women's Swimming and Diving Falls to TCNJ in Season Opener

WAYNE, N.J. – The William Paterson women's swimming and diving team(0-1, 0-1 NJAC) fell 158-47 in its season opener against The College of New Jersey(1-0, 1-0 NJAC) on Oct. 15 at Wightman Pool.

TOP PERFORMERS:
  • The Pioneers finished second in the 200 medley relay with efforts from junior Samantha Pricken (Wayne, N.J./Wayne Valley), freshman Sarah Gomez (Paterson, N.J./Passaic County Tech), graduate student Carly McDaniel (Lincoln Park, N.J./Boonton) and junior Abigail Malandro (Beach Haven, N.J./Southern Regional), finishing with a time of 1:58.29.
  • McDaniel produced a second-place performance in the 50 free (25.92).
  • Malandro placed second in the 100 free (57.19).
  • Pricken recorded second in the 100 back (1:06.17).
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
  • Pricken recorded her first collegiate appearances in the 50 free (27.32) and the 100 back (1:06.17).
  • McDaniel posted her first collegiate appearances in the 50 free (25.92) and the 100 fly (1:05.42).
  • Gomez tallied her first collegiate appearances in the 200 IM (2:32.31) and the 100 breast (1:19.53).
