Four Swimmers Earned First-Place Finishes as Women’s Swimming & Diving Downs Western Connecticut State, 115-53

DANBURY, CONN. – The William Paterson women's swimming and diving team (8-2) saw four of its swimmers earn first-place finishes as it downed Western Connecticut State (2-6), 115-95 on January 21.

TOP PERFORMERS:
  • Senior Megan Hoopes (Westmont, N.J./Haddon Twp.) led the way for the Pioneer's as she secured three first-place finishes in the 100 fly (1:06.93), the 200 free (2:13.51), and the 500 free (5:57.27).
  • Sophomore Abigail Malandro (Beach Haven, N.J./Southern Regional) secured two first-place finishes for WP in the 50 free (26.57) and the 100 free (59.18).
  • Senior Taylor Friedman (South Amboy, N.J./Sayreville War Memorial) swam a personal-best time of 2:24.89 in the 200 IM while touching the wall first. Friedman secured first for William Paterson in the 100 back with a time of 1:07.47.
  • Sophomore Nicole Kahwaty (Lakke Hopatcong, N.J./Morris County Tech) earned her first win of the season for the Pioneer's in the 100 breast, swimming a personal-best time of 1:19.55.
