WAYNE, N.J. – Despite multiple personal-best finishes, the men's swimming and diving team (8-7, 0-4 NJAC) was topped by NJAC rival The College of New Jersey (9-1, 3-1 NJAC), 164-88, in its last regular-season meet Feb. 1.
TOP PERFORMERS:
- Freshman Jason Peralta (Hackensack, N.J./Hackensack) posted a personal best in the 50 free (28.71) for third place.
- Junior Bradley Belina (Paramus, N.J./Paramus) collected two personal bests against the Lions. He touched the wall in 11:07.84 to finish third in the 1000 free and placed second in the 500 free with a 5:34.07 finish.
- Valentine Perez (Hamilton, N.J./Hamilton) collected a pair of personal-best finishes. The junior touched the wall in 1:12.62 in the 100 breast to finish third. He also touched second in the 200 breast with a time of 2:43.84.
- Junior Jonathan Vela (Prospect Park, N.J./Passaic County Tech) tallied a personal best in the 200 fly (2:29.50) to finish fourth.
- Senior Jimmy Sharkey (Hamilton, N.J./Hamilton West) notched a pair of personal bests, first in the 200 free (1:50.10) for third place then later in the 200 back (2:17.27) to finish second.
- Senior Eamon Logue (Vernon, N.J./Vernon Twp.) swam his personal best in two of the three individual races he competed in. His time of 50.40 in the 100 free earned him second place while his personal-best times in the 200 IM (2:09.73) and 200 free (1:52.32) were second and fourth place, respectively.
