PISCATAWAY, N.J. – A dominant B Final 400 free relay on Feb. 24 allowed the men's swimming and diving team to finish up the three-day Metropolitan Championships in 8^th place out of 12 Division III teams and 10^th place out of 14 total teams with 234 points.
 

TOP PERFORMERS:

• WP touched first in the B Final 400 free relay (3:17.63) to finish the weekend on a high note. Junior Eamon Logue's (Vernon, N.J./Vernon Twp.) first leg of the race was his personal best in the 100 free (48.67).  He was followed by fellow junior Jimmy Sharkey (Hamilton, N.J./Hamilton West) (50.28) and senior Ryan Achyuthuni (Middletown, N.J./Middletown South) (50.75).  Senior Drew Macchia (Chatham, N.J./Chatham) anchored the race (47.93).
• Macchia touched fifth in the C Final of the 100 free with a season-best time of 47.87.
• Sharkey completed the 1650 free in 17:22.02 to record a new personal-best time and take 16^th place.
• Sophomore Bradley Belina (Paramus, N.J./Paramus) placed just behind him in 18:53.64, also his personal best. 
• Sophomore Thomas Haughey (Folsom, Pa./Ridley) finished next in line to his classmate in 19:17.87. 
• Also a sophomore, John Conlow (Mount Laurel, N.J./Lenape) placed 20^th with a personal-best time (19:27.66). 
• While competing against fellow Pioneers, junior Matt Infurna (Fair Lawn, N.J./Fair Lawn) took 25^th with a time of 20:34.96.
