Women's Swimming and Diving Team Snapped its Winning Streak by Falling to Montclair State

WP Placed First in the 200 Free Relay

WAYNE, N.J. – The women's swimming and diving team (10-3, 1-2 NJAC) could not stretch its winning streak to eight as they fell to Montclair State (5-3, 4-1 NJAC), 87-127, Jan. 26.

TOP PERFORMERS:

Junior Mariah Jenkins (Brooklyn, N.Y./St. Saviour) touched first in the 100 breast with a time of 1:19.66.
Diver Ashley Lawler (Linwood, N.J./Mainland Regional) placed first in the three-meter dive with a score of 201.07. The junior placed second in the one-meter dive with 198.00 points.
WP won the 200 free relay in 1:55.43. Senior Christianne Joyce Pineda (Haskell, N.J./Hackensack) (28.14), freshman Morgan Hodges (Howell, N.J./Freehold Twp.) (29.89), junior Anna Boyton (Sewell, N.J./Clearview Regional) (30.50), and senior Quinn Reynolds (Delran, N.J./Delran) (26.90) put forth a team effort for the victory.
Senior Casey Murphy (Hardyston, N.J./Wallkill Valley Regional) swam the 1000 free in 12:04.15 and the 500 free in 5:59.77 to take second place in both races.
Quinn Reynolds (Delran, N.J./Delran) touched second in the 100 back in 1:05.61. She touched third in the 50 free in 27.19.
Freshman Taylor Friedman (South Amboy, N.J./Sayreville War Memorial) finished the 200 IM in third place with a time of 2:33.26.
Freshman Leah Santonastaso (Newton, N.J./Kittatinny Regional) improved her personal best time in the 500 free to 6:22.05 for fourth place.
