PISCATAWAY, N.J. – The William Paterson women's swimming and diving team finished the 2017-18 season and the third and final day of the Metropolitan Championships Feb. 18, placing 10th of 15 Division programs and 13th of 18 teams overall.
The WP women posted 192 team points across the three days of competition and saw action in five different event finals on Sunday.
The 400 free relay team consisting of junior
Casey Murphy (Hardyston, N.J./Wallkill Valley Regional), freshman
Iris Santos (Paterson, N.J./Passaic County Tech), junior
Christianne Joyce Pineda (Haskell, N.J./Hackensack) and junior
Quinn Reynolds (Delran, N.J./Delran) had the best overall finish on the day for WP, taking fifth in the B Final (3:55.98). The quartet's time was a season best, as was Reynolds pace as she registered sixth in the 200 back C Final (2:16.66).
Another pair of season-best clips were put forth, with sophomore
Anna Boyton (Sewell, N.J./Clearview Regional) touching sixth in the 200 fly C Final (2:29.26) and Murphy earning the 21st place slot in the 1,650 free (20:31.04).
Just a day after setting the WP one-meter 11 dives, sophomore
Ashley Lawler (Linwood, N.J./Mainland Regional) took fifth in the three-meter 11 dives (341.25), securing 25 individual points for the Pioneers with the effort.
