Video Highlights

WAYNE, N.J.  – A well rounded effort bolstered the William Paterson women's swimming and diving team Jan. 16, as five Pioneer swimmers won five events apiece in a 90-67 victory against the visiting Fighting Tigers of SUNY Cobleskill (3-6).

One freshman, two sophomores and a pair of juniors accounted for the five double winners, while the Pioneers took 13 events in total.

Freshman Iris Santos (Paterson, N.J./Passaic County Tech) swam to victory in the 200 free (2:15.79) and 100 free (1:01.72). Sophomore Mariah Jenkins (Brooklyn, N.Y./St. Saviour) claimed wins in the 200 IM (2:47.64) and 100 breast (1:20.36), while classmate Ashley Lawler (Linwood, N.J./Mainland Regional) dove to winning scores in the one-meter (193.55) and three-meter (190.95) dives. Two juniors also posted double winning nights, as Quinn Reynolds (Delran, N.J./Delran) touched the wall ahead of the field in the 50 free (27.27) and 100 back (1:05.61) and Casey Murphy (Hardyston, N.J./Wallkill Valley Regional) won the distance events, securing the 500 free (6:02.37) and 1,650 free (21:01.59).

Also posting an individual victory was Christianne Joyce Pineda (Haskell, N.J./Hackensack), who's first place pace in the 100 fly (1:08.96) notched nine points for the Pioneers. Pineda was also a part of WP's meet-opening victory in the 200 medley relay (2:11.64), featuring sophomore Janice Costa (Clifton, N.J./Bergen Arts and Science), Jenkins and senior Katelyn Diva (North Haledon, N.J./Paramus Catholic) as the anchor. The Pioneer women bookended the meet by taking another relay in the 200 free relay (1:53.66) thanks to the contributions of Murphy, Santos, Diva and Reynolds.

WP hasn't lost a road meet this season and it looks to continue that streak when it heads to face Bard (0-6) Saturday, Jan. 20, at 1:00 p.m.
