EWING, N.J. - The William Paterson men's swimming and diving team (10-6, 0-4 NJAC) suffered a 184-98 loss at No. 13 The College of New Jersey (6-3, 3-1 NJAC) as it closed out the dual-meet season Feb. 4.
Senior
Jeremy Oiler (Hamilton, N.J./Nottingham) claimed two season-best times as he placed second in the 500 (5:33.47) and 1,000 (11:20.99) frees.
Sophomore
Drew Macchia (Chatham, N.J./Chatham) and senior
Grant Ashcraft (Penns Grove, N.J./Woodstown) posted two second-place times apiece. Macchia touched second in the 50 (23.39) and 100 (50.78) frees, while Ashcraft did so in the 100 (1:01.28) and 200 (2:19.21) backs.
Freshman
Eamon Logue (Vernon, N.J./Vernon Twp.) posted a good time in the 200 free (1:58.22) to earn second place, and junior
Sammuel Melendez (West Haverstraw, N.Y./North Rockland) garnered second in the 200 breast (2:26.81).
The Pioneers will compete at the Metropolitan Championships at Rutgers University in Piscataway Feb. 17-19.
