FLUSHING, N.Y. - William Paterson men's swimming and diving (8-3) was led by three wins from junior
Anthony Taboadela (Rockaway, N.J./Morris Hills) as it began 2017 with a 132-93 win at Division II Queens (2-3) Jan. 12.
Taboadela was the only Pioneer to win multiple events, securing the 200 IM (2:02.94), 100 breast (1:03.17) and 100 back (56.14).
WP had two single winners as freshman
Jimmy Sharkey (Hamilton, N.J./Hamilton West) set a personal best in the 1,000 free (11:43.38) and sophomore
Drew Macchia (Chatham, N.J./Chatham) touched first in the 100 free (50.39).
The Pioneers also claimed the 200 free relay (1:38.09) thanks to the combined efforts of freshman
Eamon Logue (Vernon, N.J./Vernon Twp.), senior
Nick Cowie (Newton, N.J./Newton), senior
Jeremy Oiler (Hamilton, N.J./Nottingham) and Macchia.
The Pioneers will travel to Lehman Saturday, Jan. 14, at 1:00 p.m.
