GENEVA, N.Y. – William Paterson senior Brittany LaBruna (Bloomingdale, N.J./Continental Academy) registered a pair of victories Sept. 24 to advance to the third round of the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Small College Northeast Regional Championship Presented by Oracle at William Smith College.
 
Top-seeded LaBruna opened the day with a 6-2, 6-3 first-round victory against The College of New Jersey's Emily Szudlarski, and added a 6-3, 6-2 second-round win against Union's Natalie Pezzuco.
 
The third round and quarterfinals will be conducted Sunday, Sept. 25, with the semifinals and championship match set for Monday, Sept. 26.
 
LaBruna is looking to secure her third ITA regional title after winning the 2013 and 2015 events, and she also was a semifinalist in 2014.
 
The Northeast Regional winner automatically qualifies for the national ITA Oracle Cup Oct. 13-16 in Surprise, Ariz.
