COBLESKILL, N.Y. – The William Paterson men's swimming and diving team (5-0) notched its fifth straight victory after defeating SUNY Cobleskill (0-2), 117-93, Oct. 29.
Junior
Anthony Taboadela (Rockaway, N.J./Morris Hills) continued a strong start to his season, registering his fifth consecutive meet as a triple winner. Taboadela bested the competition in the 200 free (1:55.46), 100 fly (54.92) and 100 breast (1:03.09).
Sophomore
Drew Macchia (Chatham, N.J./Chatham) turned in two victories, securing the 50 free (24.11) and 100 free (53.62).
The Pioneers had three single winners, including a personal-best time from freshman
Jimmy Sharkey (Hamilton, N.J./Hamilton West). Sharkey took home the 500 free (5:49.80) for his first career individual win. Junior
Sammuel Melendez (West Haverstraw, N.Y./North Rockland) won the 200 IM (2:13.74), and senior
Jeremy Oiler (Hamilton, N.J./Nottingham) claimed the 1,000 free (11:33.51).
WP will host Maritime Tuesday, Nov. 1, at 6:00 p.m.
