Men's Swimming and Diving Earns 126-102 Victory Over Queens

Macchia a Double Winner for Pioneers

Freshman Drew Macchia won the 50 and 100 frees against Queens.

WAYNE, N.J. – The William Paterson men's swimming and diving team (7-3) claimed the victory over Division II Queens College (3-2), 126-102, Jan. 12.

Freshman Drew Macchia (Chatham, N.J./Chatham) came up big for the Pioneers, winning the 50 (22.37) and the 100 (50.01) frees.

Sophomore Anthony Taboadela (Rockaway, N.J./Morris Hills) claimed three victories, triumphing in the 200 IM (2:09.87), 100 back (57.37) and 100 breast (1:05.37).

Junior Nick Cowie (Newton, N.J./Newton) touched first in the 100 fly (56.08), and junior Jeremy Oiler (Hamilton, N.J./Nottingham) finished first in the 1,000 free (11:47.45).

The Pioneers will celebrate Senior Day when they host Lehman Saturday, Jan. 16, at 1:00 p.m.
