PISCATAWAY, N.J. – William Paterson women's swimming and diving sophomore
Vera Blazevska (Wayne, N.J./Wayne Valley) put on a show Feb. 21, as she set three school records during the second day of events at the Metropolitan Championships at Rutgers University. As a team, the Pioneers were seventh of 11 Division III squads.
The first school record that Blazevska swiped was during her third-place finish in the 400 IM preliminary race (4:42.68). She went on to finish fifth overall in the A Final (4:44.31). In the 100 breast preliminary race, she swam the first 50 in 30.70, which is another school record. Blazevska then finished second overall in the 100 breast (1:06.07) with another record-breaking time.

Courtney Starace (Toms River, N.J./Toms River East) finished eighth in the C Final of the 400 IM (5:34.33).

Cassandra Beck (Lusby, Md./Patuxent) and freshman
Kacie Holt (Belleplain, N.J./ Cape May Tech) came together to swim the 800 free relay in 8:49.60 to finish in 12th overall.
The Pioneers have one more day of competition at the Metropolitan Championships Sunday, Feb. 22 .
