PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Freshman
Anthony Taboadela (Rockaway, N.J./Morris Hills) set a new school record in the 200 IM (1:57.62) in the preliminary races to kick-start the William Paterson men's swimming and diving team at the Metropolitan Championships Feb. 20 at Rutgers University. After the first day of competition, the Pioneers were seventh of 10 Division III teams.
Senior
Bobby Boyton (Swewll, N.J./Clearview Regional), juniors
Eric Tracey (Newton, N.J./Kittatinny Regional) and
Nicolai Robinson (Matawan, N.J./Old Bridge) and sophomore
Nick Cowie (Newton, N.J./Newton) came together to swim the 200 free relay (1:30.06), finishing fourth in the B Final.
Taboadela later swam the 200 IM in 1:59.67 to finish seventh in the B Final.
Senior
Evan Marine (Forked River, N.J./Lacey Twp) was joined by Cowie, Taboadela and Robinson in the 400 medley relay (3:44.76), finishing sixth in the B Final.
William Paterson will continue competition at the Metropolitan Championships Feb. 21-22.
