Box Score MADISON, N.J. – Two members of the William Paterson tennis team advanced to the semifinal round following the first day of competition at the NJAIAW Tournament Oct. 10 at Drew University.
Junior
Brittany LaBruna (Bloomingdale, N.J./Continental Academy) defeated Ty Ty Nguyen of Drew, 8-0, to move on to tomorrow's Flight A singles semifinal round.

Summer Bernales (Jersey City, N.J./Dickinson) defeated Kean's Naylah Hinton and Brianna Martin by an 8-3 score to reach the Flight A doubles semifinals.
Bernales fell 8-2 to Stevens' Victoria Piskarev in the first round of the Flight A singles, and lost a 6-2 decision to Drew's Katie Marshall in the consolation round.
Sophomore
Brianna Boyd (Delran, N.J./Delran) fell 8-1 to Urvi Shah of Rutgers-Newark during the first round of the Flight B singles, and dropped a 6-0 decision to Drew's Megan Jarvis in the consolation round.
In Flight C, freshman
Jessica Papin-Yukhtanova (Newton, N.J./Newton) lost an 8-0 decision to Stockton's Sydni Fahringer, but bounced back for a 6-1 victory in the consolation round against Julibeth Hernandez of Rutgers-Newark. Sophomore
Sam Uribe (Paterson, N.J./Passaic County Tech) fell 8-2 to Stevens' Jill Hadwen during the opening round, but produced a 6-4 consolation win against Kesha Patel of Rutgers-Newark.
William Paterson will finish competition at the NJAIAW Tournament Sunday, Oct. 11.
