Defending Champion Suffers Three-Set Loss

Sophomore all-American Brittany LaBruna suffered her first loss of the season (10-1) with a three-set decision in the USTA/ITA Regional semifinals.

GENEVA, N.Y. – William Paterson sophomore Brittany LaBruna (Bloomingdale, N.J./Continental Academy) dropped a three-set decision in the United States Tennis Association (USTA)/Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Northeast Regional semifinal round Sept. 29 at William Smith College.

The event's top seed and the defending regional champion, LaBruna suffered her first loss of the season (10-1), falling 2-6, 6-2, 1-6 to Brittany Reedman of The College of New Jersey.

William Paterson (3-3, 2-2 NJAC) will compete at Kean Wednesday, Oct. 1, at 4:00 p.m.
