Brittany LaBruna (Bloomingdale, N.J./Continental Academy) opened the United States Tennis Association (USTA)/Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Northeast Regional with a pair of victories Sept. 27 at William Smith College.
The sophomore all-American and defending regional champion started the day with a 6-1, 6-1 victory against RPI's Emily Laurilliard, and defeated Ithaca's Haley Kusak 6-1, 6-2.
LaBruna will compete in the third round Sunday, Sept. 28, at 8:30 a.m.
