PISCATAWAY, N.J. - The William Paterson men's swimming & diving team was paced by its relay teams during the first day of the Metropolitan Championships Feb 14, at Rutgers University.
The team of senior
Troy Buglio (Toms River, N.J./Toms River East), junior
Bobby Boyton (Sewell, N.J./Clearview Regional), sophomore
Eric Tracey (Newton, N.J./Kittatinny Regional) and sophomore
Nicolai Robinson (Matawan, N.J./Old Bridge) posted a time of 1:30.74 to finish 14th in the 200 free relay.
The 400 medley relay team of Tracey, junior
Evan Marine (Forked River, N.J./Lacey Twp), freshman
Nick Cowie (Newton, N.J./Newton) and freshman
Jason Leung (Fair Lawn, N.J./Fair Lawn) touched 13th with a time of 3:47.04.
In the 500 free, Buglio touched 31st (5:00.48), Robinson placed 32nd (5:02.14) and senior
Corey Matthews (Toms River, N.J./Toms River North) finished 33rd (5:02.30), all personal-best times.
Marine touched 31st in the 200 IM in 2:05.57, and Cowie placed 36th in 2:09.60.
Tracey also placed 38th in the 50 free in 22.63, a personal best.
William Paterson will continue competition at the Metropolitan Championships February 15-16.
