GLASSBORO, N.J. – The William Paterson women's swimming and diving team (3-1, 0-1 NJAC) suffered its first loss of the season, 134-103, at conference opponent Rowan (4-0, 1-0 NJAC) Nov. 5.
The Pioneers had a pair of double winners. Sophomore
Vera Blazevska (Wayne, N.J./Wayne Valley) touched first in the 200 IM (2:21.08) and the 100 breast (1:10.17), and classmate
Courtney Lawler (Northfield, N.J./Mainland Regional) won both the one-meter (172.13) and the three-meter (163.95) dives.
Sophomore
Christine Gustafson (Clifton, N.J./Clifton) placed first in the 100 fly (1:05.79).
Senior
Sheri Brino (Ogdensburg, N.J./Wallkill Valley Regional) swam a close second in the 100 back (1:08.72), while junior
Brittany English (Branchville, N.J./High Point Regional) touched second in both the
100 (58.96) and 200 (2:09.26) frees with personal-best times.
The Pioneers are back in the pool Tuesday, Nov. 11, in Wayne as they take on Hunter at 6:00 p.m.
