WAYNE, N.J. – The William Paterson women's swimming & diving team (9-2) defeated visiting Division II Queens (3-6), 142-89, Jan. 15.
Sophomore
Gabrielle Porcaro (Belleville, N.J./Belleville) was a double winner for the Pioneers, touching first in the 500 (6:04.36) and the 1,000 (12:19.82) frees. Freshman
Courtney Lawler (Northfield, N.J./Mainland Regional) took first in the one-meter (154.80) and one-meter optional (209.65) dives.
Senior
Kathryn Burke (Sewell, N.J./Washington Twp.) finished first in the 100 fly (1:07.65), and junior
Sheri Brino (Ogdensburg, N.J./Wallkill Valley Regional) won the 50 free in 27.50.
The 200 free relay team of Porcaro, senior
Brianna Shea (Turnersville, N.J./Washington Twp.), junior
Ruth Midence (Prospect Park, N.J./Country Prep) and freshman
Cassandra Beck (Lusby, Md./Patuxent) posted a winning time of 1:59.52.
The team of Brino, Burke, sophomore
Brittany English (Branchville, N.J./High Point Regional) and freshman
Vera Blazevska (Wayne, N.J./Wayne Valley) posted a time of 2:00.77 to win the 200 medley relay.
William Paterson will host The College of New Jersey on Saturday, Jan. 18, at 1:00 p.m.
