DALLAS, PA. – The William Paterson women's soccer team (0-1) suffered a 5-0 loss at Misericordia (1-0) in both teams' season opener Aug. 30.

Caitlyn Boyle struck twice during the match's first 21 minutes, and a Megan Lannigan goal made it a 3-0 score at the 27:03 mark. Boyle finished off her hat trick 97 seconds into the second half, and Megan Mahoney found the back of the net in the 56th minute.

Senior Mary Jane Seiler (Robbinsville, N.J./Robbinsville) made eight saves for the Pioneers, and Maureen Ciccosanti and Kelly Mott combined for six stops for Misericordia.

William Paterson will play its home opener Wednesday, Sept. 4, against St. Joseph's-Long Island at 7:00 p.m.
