PISCATAWAY, N.J. – William Paterson's women's swimming and diving team placed seventh of 11 Division III teams at the Metropolitan Championships Feb. 17 at Rutgers University.
The team of senior
Taylor McKay (Fair Lawn, N.J./Fair Lawn), sophomore
Sheri Brino (Ogdensburg, N.J./Wallkill Valley Regional), freshman
Brittany English (Branchville, N.J./High Point Regional) and junior
Lauren Carney (East Brunswick, N.J./East Brunswick) posted a time of 3:52.73 to finish third in the 400 free relay B Final.
In the 1,650 free, freshman
Gabrielle Porcaro (Belleville, N.J./Belleville), placed 17th (19:53.66), senior
Kerry Doris (East Brunswick, N.J./East Brunswick) touched 21st (20:23.23) and freshman
Sam Schilling (West Caldwell, N.J./James Caldwell) finished 28th (22:07.52).
Brino posted a time of 2:15.65 to take third in the 200 back C Final, and Doris finished seventh in the 200 breast C Final (2:42.93).
In the 200 fly C Final, sophomore
Courtney Starace (Toms River, N.J./Toms River East) placed fifth (2:35.91) and
Kathryn Burke (Sewell, N.J./Washington Twp.) finished eighth (2:41.52). McKay came in seventh place in the 200 fly B Final (2:25.76).
