PISCATAWAY, N.J. – William Paterson's second-place finish in the 400 medley relay B Final paced the Pioneers' men's swimming and diving team during the first day of the Metropolitan Championships Feb. 15 at Rutgers University.
Sophomore
Evan Marine (Forked River, N.J./Lacey Twp.), freshman
Nicolai Robinson (Matawan, N.J./Old Bridge), sophomore
Donado Dervishi (Garfield, N.J./Garfield) and senior
Sebastian Schrils (Washington, N.J./Warren Hills Regional) turned in a time of 3:39.53 in the 400 medley relay.
The 200 free relay team of sophomore
Bobby Boyton (Sewell, N.J./Clearview Regional), senior
Alex Carpenter (Jackson, N.J./Jackson Memorial), Dervishi and Schrils placed sixth in the 200 free relay B Final (1:29.55).
Schrils also turned in a time of 21.91 to finish eighth in the 50 free C Final.
Junior
Jeffrey Jaeckel (Kenilworth, N.J./David Brearley) placed fourth in the one-meter dive final (400.20).
William Paterson will continue competition at the Metropolitan Championships February 16-17.
