Women’s Soccer Drops 3-2 Decision to Richard Stockton

WAYNE, N.J. – The William Paterson women's soccer team (3-4-2, 1-2 NJAC) suffered a 3-2 loss to Richard Stockton (6-2-1, 1-1 NJAC) on Homecoming Sept. 22.

The Pioneers got on the board first when junior forward Sheray Anthony (Cherry Hill, N.J./Cherry Hill West) connected with a loose ball in the box off Michelle Marabondo's (Kenvil, N.J./Roxbury) corner kick at the 17:40 mark.

Freshman midfielder Danielle McKeown tied the game for the Ospreys in the 49th minute.

In the 77th minute, Marabondo scored her 12th goal of the season on a breakaway pass from Nicole Sullivan (Jackson, N.J./Jackson Memorial).

Junior forward Jacque Becker scored on a shot inside the box less than two minutes later to tie the game again for Stockton. Junior midfielder Briana Fischer put the game away for the Ospreys at the 85:56 mark on a shot from the top of the box.

Junior Mary Jane Seiler (Robbinsville, N.J./Robbinsville) played the first half for WP, saving both shots she faced. Junior Alyssa Falduto (Nutley, N.J./Nutley) played the second half for the Pioneers, making two saves. Junior Sarah Hinkle stopped six of the eight shots she faced for Stockton.

William Paterson travel to Madison, N.J., to face FDU-Florham Monday, Sept. 24, at 4:00 p.m.
