Men’s Swimming & Diving Wins, 132-99, vs. Queens

Pioneers Earn Victory Against Division II Knights

Sophomore Jeffrey Jaeckel won the one-meter required (131.55) and one-meter optional (185.70) dives against Division II Queens.
WAYNE, N.J. – The William Paterson men's swimming and diving team (7-3) earned a 132-99 victory against Division II Queens (1-6) Jan. 18.

Sophomore Jeffrey Jaeckel (Kenilworth, N.J./David Brearley) won the one-meter required (131.55) and one-meter optional (185.70) dives.  Sophomore Jason Koros (Mays Landing, N.J./Oakcrest) turned in an excellent time of 2:01.26 to finish first in the 200 back.

Senior Edward Zappile (Oak Ridge, N.J./Jefferson Twp.) posted a win in the 1,000 free (11:07.33) free and was just out-touched in the 500 free (5:08.85).  Classmate Brian Birkbeck (Absecon, N.J./Holy Spirit) won the 200 free (1:56.92), and the 400 free relay of Koros, Zappile, Bobby Boyton (Sewell, N.J./Clearview Regional) and Birkbeck turned in a winning time of 3:34.73.

WP will host The College of New Jersey Saturday, Jan. 21, at 1:00 p.m.
