PISCATAWAY, N.J. – The William Paterson men's swimming and diving team finished seventh (384 points) of 12 Division III schools after the third and final day of competition at the 2011 Metropolitan Championships Feb. 20 in Piscataway, N.J.
Senior
Andrew Scimeca (Lincoln Park, N.J./Morris County Tech) was sixth in the three-meter dive final (388.30), and junior
Jeremy Lim (Clifton, N.J./Clifton) touched seventh in the 200 fly A Final (1:59.17). Sophomore
Sebastian Schrils (Washington, N.J./Warren Hills Regional) was sixth in the C Final of the same event (2:08.53).
Sophomore
Tyler Grady (Ringwood, N.J./Lakeland Regional) finished third (2:00.40) and freshman
Jason Koros (Mays Landing, N.J./Oakcrest) was sixth (2:01.76) in the 200 back B Final. Sophomore
Mazen Yousef (Toms River, N.J./Toms River East) placed third in the 200 breast C Final (2:16.42), while junior
Anthony Porzio (Toms River, N.J./Toms River North) was 18th (17:57.35) and freshman
Troy Buglio (Toms River, N.J./Toms River East) was 21st (18:03.90) in the 1,650 free.
In the 400 free relay, junior
Brian Birkbeck (Absecon, N.J./Holy Spirit), Grady, Schrils and senior
Alex Burdi (Oak Ridge, N.J./Jefferson Twp.) placed fifth in the B Final (3:21.77).
William Paterson finished the season with a 10-4 overall dual-meet record and a 0-4 slate in New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) action.
