PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Junior
Jeremy Lim (Clifton, N.J./Clifton) established a new school record in the 100 fly and the William Paterson men's swimming and diving team was seventh of 12 Division III schools after the second day of competition at the Metropolitan Championships Feb. 19 in Piscataway, N.J.
Lim placed sixth in the 100 fly A Final with a time of 52.21, bettering the previous Pioneer record of 53.29 established by Chris Bloch (1986-87).
The 800 free relay of junior
Brian Birkbeck (Absecon, N.J./Holy Spirit), sophomore
Tyler Grady (Ringwood, N.J./Lakeland Regional), senior
Alex Burdi (Oak Ridge, N.J./Jefferson Twp.) and freshman
Jason Koros (Mays Landing, N.J./Oakcrest) finished ninth (7:30.34). Grady, sophomore
Mazen Yousef (Toms River, N.J./Toms River East), Lim and sophomore
Sebastian Schrils (Washington, N.J./Warren Hills Regional) touched fourth in the 200 medley relay B Final in a time of 1:40.63.
Grady was third (55.13) and Koros was seventh (56.47) in the 100 back B Final. Koros finished sixth in the B Final (4:29.28) and junior
Anthony Porzio (Toms River, N.J./Toms River North) placed sixth in the C Final (4:38.05) in the 400 IM.
Birkbeck was fifth in the 200 free C Final (1:49.04), and Yousef was seventh in the 100 breast C Final (1:03.24).
William Paterson will finish competition at the Metropolitan Championship Feb. 20.
