WAYNE, N.J. – William Paterson (0-1, 0-1 NJAC) lost to visiting Rowan (1-0, 1-0 NJAC), 124-99, in the men's swimming and diving season opener for both schools Oct. 20.

Senior Edward Zappile (Oak Ridge, N.J./Jefferson Twp.) was a double winner, touching first in the 500 (5:16.34) and 1,000 (11:01.94) frees.  Sophomore Jeffrey Jaeckel (Kenilworth, N.J./David Brearley) finished first in the three-meter dive (171.60), while sophomore Jason Koros (Mays Landing, N.J./Oakcrest) posted solid times in the 200 IM (2:10.39) and 100 back (56.50).  Freshman Donado Dervishi (Garfield, N.J./Garfield) was second in the 100 breast (1:06.86) in his collegiate debut.

William Paterson will host Baruch Thursday, Oct. 27, at 6:00 p.m.
