Women's Soccer Drops Decision against No. 8 Ithaca

Pioneers Suffer 5-1 Loss at Brandeis Invitational

Junior Ashley Grabowski's goal evened the Pioneers' match against No. 8 Ithaca at 1-1.

WALTHAM, MASS. – No. 8 Ithaca (1-0) took control of the contest with a pair of goals in a nine-minute span during the first half, eventually scoring a 5-1 victory against William Paterson (0-2) at the Brandeis Women's Soccer Invitational Sept. 4.

Jackie Rodabaugh scored four of the Bombers' five goals, the first coming off an assist from Caroline Jastremski in the fifth minute. Junior Ashley Grabowski (Woodbridge, N.J./Woodbridge) pulled the Pioneers even with her unassisted strike in the 19th minute, but Rodabaugh found the back of the net, unassisted, in the 21st minute, then finished a Rachael Palladino assist at the 29:04 mark for a 3-1 edge.

Rodabaugh made it a three-goal lead with an unassisted goal 2:29 into the second half, and Palladino finished the scoring in the 56th minute, using a Liz Masucci assist for the final margin.

Pioneer freshman Alyssa Falduto (Nutley, N.J./Nutley) made four saves in goal. Alyssa Sotomayor had two stops in 74:39 of action for Ithaca, and Jessica Platt made two saves during the final 15:21.

William Paterson will take on host Brandeis Sunday, Sept. 5, at 11:00 a.m.
