GLASSBORO, N.J. – William Paterson (0-1, 0-1 NJAC) fell to host Rowan (1-0, 1-0 NJAC), 135-89, in both teams' men's swimming and diving season opener Oct. 23.

Junior Edward Zappile (Oak Ridge, N.J./Jefferson Twp.) led the Pioneers with a win in the 500 free (5:10.43) and a second-place finish in the 1,000 free (10:49.23). Sophomore Tyler Grady (Ringwood, N.J./Lakeland Regional) was second (58.69) and freshman Jason Koros (Mays Landing, N.J./Oakcrest) was third (59.16) in the 100 back, and sophomore Mazen Yousef (Toms River, N.J./Toms River East) touched second in the 100 breast (1:06.44).

William Paterson will return to action Thursday, Oct. 28, at Baruch at 6:00 p.m.
