WAYNE, N.J. – No. 25 William Paterson improved to 7-0 this season with a 69-48 women's basketball victory against visiting York (3-4) Dec. 5 at the Rec Center.

Erin Cook (Princeton, N.J./Princeton) had a double-double off the bench with 12 points and a game-high 14 rebounds for the Pioneers. Classmate

Cori Santana (Lodi, N.J./Lodi) posted a career-best 10 points and five rebounds. Sophomore
BriAnna Lucas (Hamilton, N.J./Nottingham) led all players with five assists, adding five tallies, and freshman
Lindsey Callander (Branchburg, N.J./Somerville) contributed nine points and three assists.
During a first half that saw the two teams combine for 30 fouls and 27 turnovers, the Pioneers entered the locker room with a 33-26 lead thanks to a 16-4 edge in points off turnovers and 15-for-19 (.789) shooting from the free-throw line. The Cardinals, who were forced into 21 miscues, did not help themselves at the charity stripe, making just eight of 18 (.444) attempts.
William Paterson gradually pulled away from York during the second half, using a 7-0 spurt to go up by 14 (44-30, 13:30), and later engineering a 12-3 run to take its biggest lead of the game, 69-47, with 1:53 to play.
In all, the Pioneer defense forced 34 York turnovers and created a 28-9 advantage in points off those miscues. William Paterson held the Cardinals without a field goal for the final 5:12 of the contest, and the WP bench out-scored its counterpart by a 39-7 margin.
Sophomore Kadisha Wickham scored 10 of her game-high 18 points during the first half for York. She added 10 rebounds and three steals. Junior Maimouna Dabo had seven tallies, and senior Chiquita Greene posted six points, three assists and four steals.
