WAYNE, N.J. – Five Pioneers were double winners as the William Paterson men's swimming and diving team (3-1) won every event in a 109-68 victory against Division I NJIT (0-5) Nov. 10.
Freshman
Sebastian Schrils (Washington, N.J./Warren Hills Regional) won a pair of events for the first time of his first career, touching first in the 50 free (23.46) and 100 fly (58.73). Senior
Kirk Smith (West Orange, N.J./West Orange) finished first in the 200 IM (2:14.23) and 100 breast (1:06.81), while senior
Voyta Karas (Brno, Czech Republic) won the 100 (49.41) and 200 (1:49.42) frees. Sophomore
Edward Zappile (Oak Ridge, N.J./Jefferson Twp.) touched first in the 500 (5:22.51) and 1,650 (18:44.29) frees, and junior
Andrew Scimeca (Lincoln Park, N.J./Boonton) won the one-meter (195.67) and three-meter (170.40) dives. Senior
Stefan Rosales (Rahway, N.J./St. Joseph's-Metuchen) added a victory in the 100 back (57.57).
The Pioneer men and women will host Lehman and celebrate Parents Appreciation Day Saturday, Nov. 14, at 1:00 p.m.
