WAYNE, N.J. – William Paterson (0-1, 0-1 NJAC) opened its 2009-10 women's swimming and diving season with a 137-87 loss to visiting Rowan (1-0, 1-0 NJAC) Oct. 21.

Senior Caitlin Rotondo (Brick, N.J./Methacton) was the top Pioneer in the 100 free with a time of 59.20, while junior Lauren Horowitz (Hillsborough, N.J./Hillsborough) did the same in the 500 free (6:01.65). Sophomore Brett Kuchin (Cherry Hill, N.J./Cherry Hill East) also turned in an excellent time of 1:11.85 in the 100 breast.

William Paterson will return to action Tuesday, Oct. 27, at St. Joseph's-Long Island at 7:00 p.m.
