William Paterson seized the lead for good with a Kane three-pointer at the 11:36 mark of the first half (15-12), and the Pioneers entered the locker room with a 35-30 edge. That advantage would quickly extend to 13 (51-38, 13:33), but the Mariners mounted a comeback and shaved 10 points off the WP lead (55-52, 8:01). Freshman
BriAnna Lucas (Hamilton, N.J./Nottingham) answered with a jumper, followed by a Kane free throw, another Lucas bucket and consecutive field goals from Kane and Smith, giving the Pioneers a commanding 64-52 lead with 4:19 to play.
William Paterson will begin New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) play Saturday, Dec. 6, at home against Rowan at 3:00 p.m.
