WAYNE, N.J. – The William Paterson men's swimming and diving team (7-3) defeated NJIT, 122-75, in its final home meet of the season Jan. 27 at Wightman Gym.

Joe Shirrman (Pine Bush, N.Y./Pine Bush) was one of five double-winners for William Paterson, finishing first in the 50 free (22.95) and 200 backstroke (2:15.62) in a personal-best time. Sophomore
David Caputo (Staten Island, N.Y./Curtis) won the 500 (5:12.28) and 1,000 (11:10.12) frees. Freshman
Kirk Smith (West Orange, N.J./West Orange) was the winner of the 200 IM (1:11.20) and the 200 breaststroke (2:29.9) in a personal-best time. Senior
Sean Davenport (Highland Lakes, N.J./Vernon Twp.) placed first in the one-meter (168.9) and three-meter (188.4) dives, while freshman
