Box Score

WAYNE, N.J. (OCTOBER 2, 2006) – The William Paterson men's soccer team (5-5-1) played to a scoreless draw in double overtime against the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy (8-1-1) Oct. 2 at the Pioneer Soccer Park.
The Mariners had the majority of the run of play during the first 90 minutes, outshooting the Pioneers 12-4 during the stretch. But WPU exerted the pressure in the first overtime, as Jay Hooper (Franklin, N.J./Franklin) and Carlos Moreira (Union City, N.J./Union City) both had excellent chances to end the match. Hooper again had a quality try midway through the second extra period, making a sliding stab at the far post off a throw-in, but it rolled just wide.

Freshman Andrew Margolies (Brick, N.J./Brick Memorial) made six saves in goal for the Pioneers.
