Ryan Gibbons (Glen Rock, N.J./Glen Rock) was a second-team selection, the group announced May 18.
A member of the 2012 All-NJCBA First Team and All-NJAC Second Team as well as a selection to the 2011 NJCBA Division II/III All-State Second Team, Derner is the conference leader in slugging percentage (.804, seventh nationally), RBI (62, first nationally), home runs (13, third in Division III), total bases (115, eighth nationally), RBI/game (1.48, second nationally) and homers/game (0.31, ninth in Division III), ranking second in walks (30, 27th in Division III) and on-base percentage (.527, 14th in Division III). A two-time member of the D3baseball.com National Team of the Week (April 2, April 9) and the March 26 NJCBA and NJAC Player of the Week, Derner added a .413 batting average (third in league), 15 doubles (tied-fifth in NJAC), 40 runs scored (tied-seventh in conference), four sacrifice flies (tied-sixth in league) and 59 hits (tied-ninth in NJAC) this spring. He also ranks in the conference stats in walks/game (0.71, fourth), doubles/game (0.36, fourth), runs/game (0.95, sixth) and hits/game (1.40, tied-eighth) while starting in all but one game this season.
A first-team New Jersey Collegiate Baseball Association (NJCBA) Division II/III all-state and all-New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) honoree this spring, Montanile made the move from the outfield to first base this spring, leading WP with three triples. He ranked second with a .377 batting average, 61 hits, 41 runs scored and 48 RBI while adding 13 doubles, two home runs, a .531 slugging percentage, .432 on-base percentage and .976 fielding percentage. A second-team all-NJAC selection in 2010, he ranks third in RBI (29th in Division III), RBI/game (1.20, 31st nationally) and hits/game (1.53), fourth in runs/game (1.03), tied for fifth in runs scored and triples, sixth in hits and average, tied for sixth in triples/game (0.08), and tied for eighth in doubles and doubles/game (0.33) in the league statistics, and he also rates 17th in Division III in toughest to strikeout.
A first-team NJCBA all-state and second-team all-NJAC selection this spring, Gibbons started in 40 of 42 games in his first season as a Pioneer after transferring from Kean. He led the NJAC in doubles (23, third in Division III) and doubles/game (0.55, fourth nationally) and ranks second in runs scored (52, 21st in Division III) and runs/game (1.24, 33rd in Division III), third in slugging percentage (.616), fourth in total bases (98, 43rd nationally), tied for fifth in walks (27), sixth in stolen bases (17) and steals/game (0.40), seventh in on-base percentage (.472), tied for seventh in home runs (four), eighth in batting average (.371), walks/game (0.64) and homers/game (0.10), tied-eighth in hits/game (1.40), tied for ninth in hits (59) and tied for 10th in triples (two).
William Paterson finished 29-13 overall and 11-7 in league play, qualifying for the NJAC Tournament.
