Senior Jodi Feriod was one of 30 recipients of the Americann Kinesiology Association National Scholar Award.
WAYNE, N.J. – William Paterson field hockey senior Jodi Feriod (Glassboro, N.J./Glassboro) was named one of 30 recipients of the American Kinesiology Association (AKA) 2010 National Scholar Award for academic excellence and leadership. Awardees were recommended by their respective departments and approved by the AKA Award Selection Committee.

A midfielder, Feriod earned first-team all-New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) and second-team Longstreth/National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) all-South Atlantic Region accolades for the second straight year after starting in all 18 games this fall and registering 15 points (6 g, 3 a) to rank fourth for the Pioneers in scoring. She provided the game-winning goals in back-to-back victories to open the 2009 season (3-2, Muhlenberg, 9/1/09; 2-1, RPI, 9/5/09), and she ranked tied for ninth in game-winning goals in the conference statistics. During her four-year career, Feriod started in 71 of 72 contests and tallied 12 goals and 17 assists for 41 points.

The 2009-10 William Paterson Department of Kinesiology Student of the Year, she competed in the 2009 NFHCA Senior All-Star Game and was selected to the NFHCA Division III National Academic Squad for four straight years. Feriod was named to the 2007-08 and 2008-09 All-NJAC Academic Honorable Mention Teams, and was a Fall 2007, Spring 2008, Fall 2008, Spring 2009 and Fall 2009 Dean’s List student.
