Guadango Earns Fourth Career All-Region Award

Senior Named to ABCA Third Team

Senior Mike Guadango earned a spot on the ABCA Mid-Atlantic All-Region Third Team.
WAYNE, N.J. – William Paterson senior designated hitter Mike Guadango (Upper Saddle River, N.J./Northern Highlands) received his fourth career all-region accolade when he was selected to the 2010 American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) Mid-Atlantic Region All-Third Team announced May 24.

Guadango was previously named to the 2008 and 2009 ABCA All-Region First Teams as well as the 2007 All-Region Second Team. A two-time all-American and a four-time first-team all-New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) pick, Guadango led the Pioneers with eight home runs, a .494 on-base percentage and a .643 slugging percentage this spring, adding a .380 batting average, eight doubles, 34 runs scored, 29 RBI, and eight stolen bases. Guadango finished his career as William Paterson's hits (257) and doubles (54) leader, and ranks first in at-bats (622), third in runs (167), fifth in home runs (26), tied for fifth in hit by pitches (17), sixth in batting average (.413) and tied for 10th in triples (nine) while starting in 149 of 152 career games.

Guadango was selected to the 2010 New Jersey Collegiate Baseball Association (NJCBA) Division II/III All-State Second Team, the 2009 Rawlings/ABCA All-America Third Team and All-ECAC Metro Region and NJCBA Division II/III All-State First Teams, and the 2008 ABCA All-America Second Team and ECAC All-Metro Region and NJCBA Division II/III All-State First Teams. He also earned the 2007 NJCBA Division II/III Rookie Player of the Year award.

William Paterson finished the 2010 season 16-21-1 overall and 6-12 in the NJAC.
