WAYNE, N.J. – William Paterson women's basketball sophomore guard
BriAnna Lucas (Hamilton, N.J./Nottingham) was selected to the ECAC All-Metro Region First Team and the D3hoops.com All-Atlantic Region Second Team, the groups announced March 17.
A first-team all-New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) pick this season, Lucas led the Pioneers with 15.8 points and 2.6 steals per game while shooting 38.9 (49-126) percent from three-point range and 74.8 (107-143) percent from the free-throw line. The 5-4 guard, who added 2.0 assists and 3.0 rebounds per contest, ranked third in the NJAC in scoring, fourth in steals and three-pointers made (1.75 pg), fifth in three-point field-goal percentage, and seventh in free-throw percentage. The 2009 NJAC and ECAC Metro Region Rookie of the Year as well as a second-team all-conference honoree, she reached double figures in 25 of 28 games this season, including eight 20-point efforts.
William Paterson was 25-3 overall and 12-3 in league play this winter, reaching the final of the NJAC Tournament and qualifying for the NCAA Tournament for the third time in four years.
